Abbey Ager

I am a painting and acting artist who uses bold colors to capture a vibrant, idealistic view of the natural world.

Since graduating with a bachelor’s of science in sociology and psychology, I balanced art-making between my day job as an inpatient mental healthcare worker before I took on coaching clients individually.

I created large acrylic paintings, taught myself to paint digitally, and took acting classes to express my unique perspective of life with ADHD. For me, art has always been a way of releasing the tension in my mind which is in constant motion. My experiences in charged, heartfelt moments that I’ve shared with vulnerable people and their stories has become a backlog of inspiration for my acting and my art.

My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to connect seemingly disperate concepts, ideas, or symbols through bold, dynamic choices. The conflicts and resolutions of life bring about an opportunity for expansion, which I try to highlight in my art. I’m hoping to channel what I’ve learned from my own experience and those who I’ve been inspired by to tell unique stories that inspire positive change in perspective unifying through shared experience.

To me, everything is connected, the challenge is finding that sacred space where they meet or merely tease a harmonious resolution that is even more gratifying in the end.
